Domain Checker
Asks the registries over RDAP and DNS from your browser. Nothing passes through this site — the lookups go straight to Verisign, Identity Digital, Google Registry and dns.google, so we never see what you check and there is no rate limit of ours to hit.

How to read it
“Looks listed for sale” is inferred from where the domain is delegated. Aftermarket platforms — Sedo, Afternic, Dan, Bodis, HugeDomains, ParkingCrew and the rest — park names they are selling on their own nameservers. That match is a strong signal, not proof: only the platform's own page confirms a listing and a price. The reverse holds too, since an owner can sell a domain that is parked nowhere at all.
Dates. The RDAP expiry says when a domain would fall free if nobody renews it, and the statuses pendingDelete and redemptionPeriod mean it is on its way back to open registration — at which point you catch the drop rather than approach the owner.
Zone coverage. Zones with a direct registry endpoint answer fastest; everything else is routed through the IANA bootstrap at rdap.org, which adds a redirect and occasionally rate-limits. A blank answer means the registry did not respond, never that the domain is free.
